For our brothers in need…

Allahumma aghfir lana, wa lil mu’miniia, wal-mu’minaati, wa aslih-hum, wa salih dhati bayynihim, wa allif baina quluubihim, waj’al fi quluubi-himul imaana wal hikmata, wa-nsurhum ‘ala’ ‘aduw-wika wa ‘aduwwihim.  Rabbana la tajal-na fitnatan-lil qawmi-dhalimeen.  Rabbi annsurni alal qawmil mufsideen.  Allahumma ansur al-Islamu wal-muslimeen.  Allahummansur deenaka wa kitabaka wa sunnahta nabiyyika wa ibadakal-Muwahhideen.  Allahumma fukka qayda asraana wa asral-muslimeen, Allahumma fukka qayda asraana wa asral-muslimeen, Allahumma fukka qayda asraana wa asral-muslimeen, wa ruddahum ila ahlihim salimeen. Ameen.

O Allah!  Forgive us, and the believing men and women, and remove their faults, and cause peace and love among their hearts, and infuse into their hearts a firm faith and wisdom, and let them be victorious over Your enemies and their enemies.  Our Lord! make us not a trial for those who practise oppression.  My Lord! Help me against people who practise corruption and spread disorder.  O Allah! Help Islam and the Muslims.  O Allah! Grant Victory to Your religion, Your book, and the Sunnah of Your prophet, and Your monotheist slaves.  O Allah! break free the shackles of our prisoners and the prisoners of the Muslims, O Allah, break free the shackles of our prisoners and the prisoners of the Muslims, O Allah, break free the shackles of our prisoners and the prisoners of the Muslims, and return them safely to their families.  Ameen.

Consider the Following:

  • Shiek Muhammad al-Habdan, said in his sermon on helping muslim prisoners:  “As for the one who can do nothing, then the very least he can do is to raise his arms in the last third of the night praying against the oppressor and the despondent one, asking Allah to relieve us of our woes and to remove the burden from us. The Prophet said, “Whoever forsakes a Muslim in a situation while he has the ability to help him, Allah will forsake him at a time when he would want the help of Allah.”
  • The Muslims are obliged to help their oppressed brothers in all places. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “The believers are nothing else than brothers (in Islamic religion)” [al-Hujuraat 49:10]
  • The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The Muslim is the brother of his fellow-Muslim; he does not wrong him or abandon.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 2442; Muslim, 2580.  Muslim added in another hadeeth (2546), “and he does not forsake him.”
  • Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “March forth, whether you are light (being healthy, young and wealthy) or heavy (being ill, old and poor), and strive hard with your wealth and your lives in the Cause of Allaah. This is better for you, if you but knew” [al-Tawbah 9:41]
  •  “Not equal are those of the believers who sit (at home), except those who are disabled (by injury or are blind or lame), and those who strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allaah with their wealth and their lives. Allaah has preferred in grades those who strive hard and fight with their wealth and their lives above those who sit (at home). Unto each, Allaah has promised good (Paradise), but Allaah has preferred those who strive hard and fight, above those who sit (at home) by a huge reward” [al-Nisa’ 4:95]
  •  Spending for the sake of Allaah is one of the best kinds of charity, for which Allaah has promised a great reward. He says (interpretation of the meaning): “The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allaah, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allaah gives manifold increase to whom He wills. And Allaah is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower” [al-Baqarah 2:261]
  • “The dua of a Muslim for his brother in his abscence will certainly be answered.  Every time he makes a supplication for good for his brother, the angel appointed for this task says, “Ameen!  May it be for you, the sam.” (Muslim)
  • Whoever relieves a believer of distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the hereafter.  Allah is helping the servant as long as the servant is helping his brother. (Muslim)
